The everyday jobs, however small
Home plumbing has changed a great deal in thirty years. Gravity fed systems, unvented hot water, combination boilers: each needs its own knowledge to install, maintain and repair. We have worked on all of them.

We are a small, fully insured business with over 35 years of experience behind us. Townsend's is Gas Safe registered under number 31875, which means we can legally work on all domestic gas appliances, and we are members of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering. We are also licensed to install and maintain unvented hot water cylinders, work which by law must be carried out by a suitably qualified engineer.
The work ranges from replacing a gas boiler to upgrading the controls, from servicing and repairing domestic boilers to re-modelling a whole central heating system, including power flushing. Shower installations, bathroom re-modelling, hot and cold water plumbing, leaking pipework: it is all the same trade, and it is all in people's homes.
Gas appliances have changed considerably over the past three decades. Modern gas fires, high efficiency boilers and gas cookers have all improved, and so have the installation practices behind them. Knowing both is what lets us service and repair properly rather than guess.
